Fun Driving Moment

Zoe and Amelia and I were driving the other day. Zoe was screaming and wailing and Amelia was screaming over and over, "Change the channel, that hurts my ears!" I had been listening to NPR at a low volume but she always claims extreme ear pain when the talking radio is on. She prefers music. Maybe she has inherited more of mommies artistic side.

Anyway I thought about getting angry but instead I just started to smile and laugh. One of the nice parts about being a slightly older parent is that I already can see the day when I am driving alone listening to a podcast about something like the history of physics in Russia and there will be no one screaming and no one asking for the channel to be changed.

Side note: Right now Amelia is wailing away upstairs and has been for more than an hour. And Zoe is alternating between a high pitched moan and rubbing play doh into the carpet.

We're back! (We hope)

Well we're trying to get back in the blog swing of things for our faithful readers (all 6 of you). Here's some from the last few weeks...

Amelia decorated Grammie's Christmas tree. She had an entire system that involved putting all of the glass balls on the lower right section. She was very insistent about this and wouldn't let anyone else near it.

At our new house, Daddy got us a tree on Christmas Eve. Amelia was very concerned that it have a tree topper and so here she puts it up for us.

Wrapping is done - it doesn't look like that many presents but I swear it was :)

Where have we been?

Busy moving... a few days before christmas SOOOOO that's why there's not been much blogging... we'll get back at it again soon!

Zoe really enjoyed her second Christmas and Amelia said a lot of thank yous. She was very good last night and she was so wonderful this morning.

No idea why these won't flip... so you'll just have to til your head to the left! Zoë enjoyed her Thanksgiving Dinner at the head of the table... but a little earlier because she had to go to bed :) She had a lot of fun and seemed to have a lot to be thankful for!

An attempt to get some family pictures...

First I wanted to get a picture of the girls like we did last year... it didn't go as well. 1. Zoe will not sit still; 2. Amelia and Zoe fight all of the time now. You can see the results:

Ohio!

Last month we went to Ohio for a funeral and despite ridiculous travel, the kids had a great time! Here we have all of the cousins together for a rare picture. Katelyn's arms are JACKED - she must work out.

The flight home...finally we all slept... It was bad. Very bad. If we had the money I'd buy our own plane so we never have to fly commercially ever again...

Happy Halloween!

First snowman of the season!

Yes, that's right, we got almost 2 feet of snow the day before Halloween...

Amelia did some fun playing in the snow (in her clothes from last year because I had not even rounded up winter clothes that fit her yet...)

And off she goes on her first time trick or treating. She was pretty excited. And pretty bundled up...

What we've been up to

Zoë got a super cute outfit from her Auntie Jen and it fits PERFECTLY.

Amelia decided to take a bath with her clothes on. She assured us she was warm because of the "hot water" but then got cold about 2 seconds later.

Zoë has a new method of watching tv.

Last Friday after school we took a family trip to a local park and the girls enjoyed swinging on the tire swing together:
