Messy Girl

We love the look on her face here... Amelia enjoying grilled cheese and french fries with her daddy.

Amelia loves to get messy (she is also going through a phase where she hates taking a bath). Here she is at school playing with shaving cream... apparently she kept saying "Covered!"

Tom specifically told her not to paint her legs.

Another ultrasound if you like that kinda thing...

Just a profile shot - apparently the baby has "some" hair, too, but it's not visible in this picture. We love bald babies (and bald men) here at crumthekid!

For the duration of the ultrasound, the baby's foot was next to his/her face. That's right - on one side of the face we could see a hand and on the other side was a foot. And no, the baby does not have a foot where there should be a hand and vice versa...

Tom's lifelong dream appears to be coming true...

Okay, so we know that the spiderman t-shirt has made a big impression on Amelia (as well as the spiderman band-aids). But it is now clear she is obsessed with Spider Man. Tom could NOT be happier. And it's not like we do much about - she literally knows about it from her shirt and the band-aids. Anywho, Tom took Amelia shopping the other day and this car was in front of the store. He could not get her out of it she was so happy...

We love how she's holding his hand here...

Happy Mother's Day - Standardized Testing - and Our L'il Squash

Amelia and I enjoying a Mother's Day afternoon. If you think I look tired and pale you are correct, because I had just gotten out of bed after sleeping for 3 hours hoping to recover from the most painful sinus infection in the history of the world. I feel a little bit better today but only after taking a half a sick day and sleeping all afternoon. At least Amelia looks happy! (especially in her spidey shirt).

This week there is a lot of standardized testing going on at CHS and so Tom thinks it's a good idea to get Amelia ready. She had a lot of fun and hopefully she will always remember how fun testing can be :)

And lastly, our L'il Squash shows us her pretty smile. We think she's very cute!

Week 29

Well here we are at week 29. I continue to hope that this baby stays in much longer than our first one... otherwise we only have 6 weeks left. Eeek! Everything is going well, though, and the belly is growing and measures "perfectly" they tell me at every visit. We get an ultrasound peek in 2 weeks and hope we get some cute face shots of this very busy little baby...

And our post would not be complete without some Amelia action. Here she sits on the counter and "paints" (there wasn't any paint on the brush) her beloved castle. I don't know what we'll do with this thing, but it sure does capture her attention for long periods of time! We'll probably keep it forever and use it as a center piece at the head table of her wedding :)

Fog comes on little cat feet

Carl Sandburg, one of my favorite poets from childhood says:
THE fog comes
on little cat feet.

It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.

*******
In our house:
The little cat feet
find wet paint.

They sit looking
over their kingdom
and then scamper about
making sure to leave their mark.

Amelia painted herself a castle we bought at Michael's today. She was so excited to do it that she held onto it tightly the entire ride home and then as soon as she woke up from her nap asked to "Paint mine sand castle?"

And lastly, we were reminded this weekend how lucky we are to have health insurance. Below is the bill we received from all of those tests they ran on me and the baby in early March.
