Well, in true Tom and Heidi fashion we have misplaced our camera and therefore cannot upload Amelia's birthday pictures. However, our friend Alli came over and took some great pictures SO we can share those!

Someone was pretty excited about birthday balloons.

Amelia apparently fell asleep asking God to forgive her for all of the whining she did today.

Coconut Macaroons for Tom...

Tuesday was Tom's birthday and I decided to for the first time ever try to make his favorite cookies - coconut macaroons - that his grandmother used to make for him and that his sister now makes for him.

As you can see it took some work and I never really got it just right...but I'm working on it...

Nurse Becky

On Friday Aunt Becky learned that she had passed her nursing boards. We are so proud of her and excited for her to start her life in a job that is perfect for her! We had lobster dinner to celebrate -- we ate on our wedding china that we recently unpacked and on the beautiful dining room table from my grandma. The most exciting part of the evening were the balloons the girls played with/fought over for the entire evening...


You can see that she is a very pretty nurse.

Zoë likes to climb into things and read her books. In this case, the baby doll crib which drives Amelia crazy when she does this....

Another one bites the dust...

Well, our poor pumpkin Amelia has now come down with croup that Zoë had last week. She woke up in the middle of the night having a hard time catching her breath and coughing and crying hysterically. Tom (and Yoda) stayed home with her today, visited the doctor, and watched a lot of t.v. Tomorrow is a Mommy-Yoda day... we know she doesn't feel well because she fell asleep on the couch at 6:45 and barely ate any dinner... poor little baby...

We have had virtually no snow this winter but last week we had enough that the girls could do some sledding. They had a lot of fun together....

Amelia enjoys breaking in our new couch. It fits her perfectly!

Tough week for Zoë...

Our little Zoë Bear has had a tough week and a half... Last week her cold turned into croup - she wasn't sleeping more than 30 minutes in a row (that's fun) and was fussy (obviously)... she got steroids that helped the breathing but made her hyper at night so she continued to not sleep well. Then on Sunday she started to get a little better but then her cold seemed to get worse by Tuesday and she spent the rest of the week screaming. SCREAMING. We took her back to the doctor yesterday who gave us medicine but encouraged us to wait a day or two just to see if she improved. And she has! Finally. She was so sad and pitiful. I am hoping she finally sleeps tonight ... It's so good to see her happy and playing again...

Amelia laid out her spiderman blanket for her baby doll and then laid out Zoë's blanket for her, too. They watched one of their high quality tv shows and rested together...



Zoe took a brief break from lying down to sit in this box. She had fun for a few minutes...

And then she found the couch. She definitely takes after her mommy!

For Christmas this year, my dad and his wife bought Amelia and Zoe an awesome play kitchen. They were so organized and had it shipped to us in early December... but then we moved 2 days before Christmas and were not up to assembling the thing that arrived in 2 boxes about 3 ft x 2 ft... So, after re-painting our living room and getting new couches, we were ready to do it... YOu can see that the girls love it. After initial fighting, they are playing well with it together and by themselves :)

Who assembled the oven/stove part? That's right - MOMMY. I decided to do it around 11pm after the Giants/Other team game... Tom was stunned (he was already snoring on the couch) and is no longer going to let me get out of assembly projects - darn it! :)

Do I have something on my face?

They're so cute...

Amelia lined up her pillow pets on the couch and sat with them for over a half hour and had an on-going conversation with them.

She then built herself a house with the box from the flat screen I bought Tom for Christmas... She called the thing on her left her chimney.

She sat inside this for quite a long time...

Zoë enjoys getting herself into all kinds of predicaments that involve danger. She climbs on tables - recently she found the outside edge of the stairs to climb...

...but then was all tuckered out from that activity. She fell asleep on the couch... doesn't she look so long!
