All Amelia

Amelia shows off her new hat that her Aunt Becky bought her - she looked so stinkin' cute I could hardly contain myself.

She also shows off her new superhero underpants... which she wears backwards so that the big design faces front... and yes, they are made for boys. But she loves her superheros....

And lastly, she has been challenging us at bedtime as of late... and after a long night a few days ago of her coming out of her room I doubled gated her in tonight. She told me as I peered over the gate after setting it up, "This is too hard." Hahaha that's right - now stay. in. your. room. She did and she went to sleep. Amelia: 0; Mommy: 1... for now.

Daddy and his girls

Amelia was sick today so we kept her home from school. She could have gone, but we had to make the decision at 5am so Tom could call in since I am not yet up to handling a sick 2 year old and an infant. She had a nice day resting , took a good nap, and here you see her watching her Elmo movie on the computer.
Too cute.

Look who's holding on to stuff now!

A Lake George Weekend

We went to Lake George for the weekend with our fun friends, the Nesbitts. It was fun, we had beautiful weather, and it was a little sad for me especially knowing Grandmother won't be there again. But because of her we can go there and that is very special.

Tom and John took Amelia and Hunter on a perfect kid-friendly hike up the mountain behind our house.

We attempt a group picture... Yoda decided to walk in front of us and pose like the regal dog he is (or that he hopes to be...)

Zoë shows off her mad tummy time skillz.

Amelia on the car ride over. I had the genius idea of showing her a video on my computer - she was transfixed, quiet, and did not whine the entire time. I do not know why I did not think of this beforehand...but from now on when we go to Lake George she is going to watch movies. That said, we realized that if we have to hear the song from the movie, "Discovering Michael" one more time we might go crazy. So, I went to Target the next morning and bought her some other movies for the ride home...

While at Target, I also bought her Halloween costume. How awesome is this?

While at Target I also bought her these swim goggles because she has wanted a pair forever and they were on sale. When we got home she enjoyed filling up her pool with the hose...

Amelia is a nut

Amelia is having a hard time getting used to not being able to wear shorts. She's not happy about it and is putting up a huge fight about wearing pants. SO, this was our compromise. Tights underneath the shorts... she picked out the shirt, too, and I wasn't about to fight that, so she went off to school in this very busy outfit. Considering that yesterday she informed her lunch table that "Mommy likes to drink wine at home," I am curious what her teachers must think about me? :)

We had a girls night tonight - Tom had back to school night. We went to Friendly's for dinner and got ice cream to go - here she enjoys some chocolate on her face.
And lastly, Amelia stood on the couch and wanted me to take a picture of her. Okay, I said, but then get off the couch... I can't remember now if she listened to me...

2 months!

Zoë turned two months old on Wednesday. She marked the occasion by recovering from the vaccines she received the day before and prepared for her follow-up hearing test the next day. Everything at both appointments went well.
Highlights:
She weighs 12 pounds 8 ounces and is 23 1/4 inches long.

We had to travel to a pediatric audiologist to get the hearing test - she was lazy at the hospital when she was born and failed it in both ears (apparently very common due to "residue" left in the ear canal from the birth process. Gross). Anywho, she had to be asleep for the 3 hour test - SO, she was not allowed to eat for four hours before the appointment so that she'd be ravenous and then fall asleep. I was not happy about that, but it worked and she slept, got hooked up to all kinds of monitors and passed with flying colors. I had to hold her for the whole process in a small, dark room and couldn't do anything - so I, too, slept.

She rolled over again today from her tummy to her back. Still hoping that was an accident.

Now for pictures - I hope to get a picture of her in this pillow every month until she is 1 - wish I'd done that with Amelia...

Zoë a few days after birth.

One month old.

Two months old and smiling!

Two months old and a funny look on her face - I just couldn't not post this picture!

If they could speak their minds...

What I think they are saying to us with their eyes in the header picture:

Amelia: Hiiiiiiiiiiii! She doesn't see that I'm pushing the swing. Muhaha. Aren't I cute? I know I'm cute; that's how I get away with so much. Like pushing this swing.

Zoë (a.k.a. Eddie Munster): MOM! MOM! Do you know she is pushing me in this swing? Why are you taking a picture?! MOM! MOM! Are you seeing this?

Zoë enjoys an afternoon on the dock at Squam Lake. She turned down a gin & tonic so she could enjoy the view.

A family photo... we love how Amelia looks in this picture even though the rest of us don't look THAT great.

Our little rock climber.

Amelia was a TROOPER this past weekend - it was a long and tough weekend for everyone because we lost her great-grandmother. Here she is being super cute at our family dinner after the funeral service. Zoë was also amazing - slept through the whole service and the dinner... sometimes it seems like the little people know just when we need them to be good.

Zoë enjoys her post-bath cuddle. Bathtime was necessitated by an earth shattering blowout... good thing she is SO cute.

Carl strikes again...

Could you ask for a better dog - baby relationship? I really don't think so...

Amelia runs around and has fun with her cousin, Katelyn after dinner. Two cute girls in two cute dresses. I wish we lived closer so she could play with her cousins like this after many dinners...
Double trouble.

She's 'piling!

Zoë has been smiling more and more every day for the last few weeks -- or as Amelia says, "She's 'piling!" She's been cooing and talking to us and it is so cute. I was able to sort of capture her smiles on camera... I think she looks a bit like an old soul in these pictures. Enjoy!

Fun with Ohio Irwins

We have been having A LOT of fun with our Ohio cousins - Tom's sister and her family. Amelia is old enough to play with her cousins, Katelyn who is 4 and Matthew who is almost 2. Katelyn is a trooper being the "older one" and having to deal with the youngin's and Matthew is a trooper dealing with two very strong willed females ... very, very strong willed.

Zoë cuddles with Aunt Laura. She is extra cute to make up for pooping all over her pants at breakfast. Aunt Laura comes all the way from Ohio to meet her niece and she holds her during breakfast... and Zoë ruins one of her only two pairs of pants she brought with her...

Uncle Tom helps Amelia and Katelyn look at some mountain lions at the Science Center.

Katelyn and Amelia get to work cleaning our deck with their squirt bottles...
Princess Katelyn borrows Amelia's princess dress and shoes for the evening...

A super self-timer picture - we are all cute and smiling. Note my leg around Amelia's waist... she didn't have any pants on...

An evening without Mommy!

Mommy went to yoga tonight for the first time since Zoe was born and then to Amelia's back to school night at her school. She and Zoe had a fun time with Daddy, as you can see:She got into some flour... but then cleaned it up on her own (so not so bad of an activity).

She then showed off her taking care of babies skills - she wrapped Emma the doll up in a swaddling blanket and rocked her...

She put her on the floor and patted her back.

And then offered to feed her a bottle. She'll be babysitting Zoe by next month...
