Bathroom Baby

Two thoughts related to the bathroom.

1. Best purchase of my life so far has been a galvanized bucket to keep the used kitty litter in. I used to keep it in bags and they would break on the car ride to the dump and malodorous havoc would ensue.

2. Zoe is not a good bathroom baby. Those of you who have ever had little ones or baby sat for them know that when you are alone you have to take them in with you whether you are taking a shower or up to something else. Well, Zoe is terrible in there. I was taking a shower the other day and had the curtain 1/2 way open so I could see her. While I completed my 4-5 minute shower she took all of the toilet paper off of the shelf where we keep it, had found some scraps of toilet paper to wad up and put in her mouth, and was headed back behind the toilet when I got out. I fear for her future.

Fun with Ohio Irwins

We have been having A LOT of fun with our Ohio cousins - Tom's sister and her family. Amelia is old enough to play with her cousins, Katelyn who is 4 and Matthew who is almost 2. Katelyn is a trooper being the "older one" and having to deal with the youngin's and Matthew is a trooper dealing with two very strong willed females ... very, very strong willed.

Zoë cuddles with Aunt Laura. She is extra cute to make up for pooping all over her pants at breakfast. Aunt Laura comes all the way from Ohio to meet her niece and she holds her during breakfast... and Zoë ruins one of her only two pairs of pants she brought with her...

Uncle Tom helps Amelia and Katelyn look at some mountain lions at the Science Center.

Katelyn and Amelia get to work cleaning our deck with their squirt bottles...
Princess Katelyn borrows Amelia's princess dress and shoes for the evening...

A super self-timer picture - we are all cute and smiling. Note my leg around Amelia's waist... she didn't have any pants on...

Zoë the Great!

Zoë Winter Crumrine arrived yesterday at 5:30 pm. Just like her sister she made Heidi put in a long work day. Heidi woke up at 4:00 am on Wednesday with contractions 5 or so minutes apart. She did an amazing job working through the pain of giving birth to Zoe and once again proved that she is a great laborer.

Here is a picture when she is about 2 minutes old.

We liked this next one because it is how she slept in the womb. Every ultrasound had her hand in this position.

I don't know about Heidi but it really helped me that Dr. Stevenson was so calm. Here he is sending a text letting his colleague know that he is going to stay a little late to deliver Heidi's baby.

Actually, it was Andrea, our nurse, and Heidi that did all of the really hard work. The nurses at Concord Hospital are all great but Andrea is one of the best.

This is Amelia's first look at Zoe. She was intrigued.

Grammie with Zoe for the first time.

Amelia played with her toys for a while and finally asked if she could hold Zoe. She held her for about a minute and then...ran back to her toys.

Here is Grandmother Perkins with Zoe.

And Becky too.

Just like with Amelia labor was exhausting for me. I have slept almost as much as Zoe today.
We will send more pictures when we get home. Hopefully tomorrow.

PS: Here is a bonus picture from when Amelia and Yoda were both a good bit smaller.
