Fun on the swings... even though it was cold.

She looks like she is suspended in mid-air here...

Yes, those shoes are on the wrong feet... Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

All bundled up and ready to go home!

Birthday Party #2

We celebrated Amelia's birthday at Grammie's house last weekend. She was much more organized than Mommy and Daddy and had a Thomas the Train theme , complete with a tablecloth, cups, plates, and train whistles. AND a Thomas cake. Which we enjoyed until a few days ago when Yoda polished it off for us....
Grammie bought Amelia some bath crayons that made bath time even more fun.

Amelia applies "make up" with her present from Aunt Becky: A purse that was filled with a cell phone, keys, sunglasses, and make-up.

Amelia meets a teeny tiny baby...

This past weekend Amelia had the chance to meet the smallest baby she's ever seen. We are trying to get her around other babies, which is proving to be really easy because we have a lot of friends having babies. This was baby Cullen, who did not like it when we held him - and Amelia wasn't so sure, either.... But once he settled down and was sleeping, Amelia seemed much more interested and even helped pat his back while he slept. We think she'll be a great big sister this summer!

More Birthday Pics...

Amelia on her birthday at school.

She LOVED when they sang to her - and she enjoyed berry muffins made from scratch by Mommy.

She liked them so much she ate 4 after they came out of the oven. I think they limited her to just one at school, though :)

Having fun outside - again with the tongue... no great shock that she has chapped lips all of the time.

Happy Birthday Amelia!

Two years ago today we first met this little peanut:

Who has since turned into this big monkey:

Happy Birthday Amelia! Amelia is 2 and showing all signs of being a normal 2 year old :)

Cake!

Happy Birthday to our dear daughter! Piled with presents, muffins, cake and peanut butter for dinner she had a really good day.

Both Amelia and Toonces enjoyed this present...

But Tom finds the promised easy storage directions hard to believe.

Demon

Please send advice on how to exorcise a demon that lives in a house.

The problem is that we can't get rid of the demon we need to reform the demon and keep it for the next 18 years or so.

That's right, Amelia has moved to another stage of the terrible twos (which begin before two--I never knew that).

Saturday Amelia was happy for 10 minutes of every hour. That's right 50 minutes of every hour were filled with whining, fake crying and just goobelieness. She also had a constant runny nose that she wouldn't let me wipe.

Tomorrow she turns 2 so I suppose all of this will go away at midnight tonight.

A fun weekend.

Amelia spent about an hour sitting on Mommy's lap using scissors to cut small shards of paper up. One would think this would make us crazy, but anything that keeps her from screaming AND helps with fine motor development, is okay with us.
Amelia then decided to sit in her carseat, read her favorite book (Wishes for You) and watch SuperWhy. Safety first - so she put her straps on, too.
She then decided she needed some space so she pushed her stroller into our very clean and organized "study", put on her hat, and continued reading her book.
And lastly, Aunt Becky came over for a rocking good time, and as you can see, Mommy and Aunt Becky really kicked it into high gear and partied like it was 1999....

Tom's House Project

Click here to see Tom's project for the weekend!

Amelia and I took off for the day to leave Tom and Yoda alone to work on this project we've needed to do for an embarassingly long period of time... We'll post final pictures when it's all done - hopefully soon!

It's a...

Very healthy little baby in there! I had my various ultrasounds today and our little baby is looking great! Healthy spine and heart - and healthy everything else. In fact, this baby was so active they had a tough time seeing all of the right veins and arteries during the echocardiogram. They got everything they needed, but not without some effort! Here are some ultrasound pictures if you're into that kind of thing...

The profile - we never got one of these of Amelia because she only wanted to show us her backside during ultrasounds...

Okay this one is kinda creepy, but cool. It looks at the baby's face head on. So, on the right side of the picture you can see two eyes, a nose, and an open mouth.

Hello there! That is the arm/elbow on the right, the umbilical cord that is a little fuzzy in front of the face, and the wall of the uterus on the top right.

Amelia in action

Just a quick video of Amelia on her "sick" day!

Sick Day?

I was home this afternoon with Amelia who has two ear infections. As you can see she really wasn't doing well.

These pictures also showcase her new preferred at home outfit. They are pants with snaps down the inseam. She likes to undo the snaps and then wear the pants as a kind of kilt. She won't wear shirts at home. And she loves to wear my hat.

I'm pretty sure she is going to school tomorrow.

Almost week 20

Here we are at "almost" week 20. The halfway point...or if my body does the same as last time, more than the halfway point :)

Things are going well - I am feeling well, have good energy, and am mostly managing my diabetic diet. Our big ultrasound and fetal echocardiogram is Thursday and we will be relieved to know the full story - hopefully we will have good news and good pictures for everyone then.

My mom probably doesn't like that I am slouching in this picture, but Tom has strict rules for belly picture photo taking and I was laughing at him. A transcript:
"Feet on the line; okay turn straight ahead; turn your head NO JUST YOUR HEAD not your body; okay perfect good, don't move..." you get the idea!
