December Highlights
We had a lot going on this December (in addition to Mommy going back to work). So here are some highlights - and I"ll keep adding a few per day until I feel as though I've sufficiently documented it!

Zoë started solids. And like her sister at the same age, she is already fighting me for the spoon. She loves it, even though she is only eating about a tablespoon per day of rice cereal.

Daddy visited Amelia's class and read some stories to her friends.
And Zoë is the quietest but most alert Christmas pageant baby Jesus ever. That is the only picture I got - I really didn't want to be that obnoxious and walk all the way down the aisle and take a picture... So, for your reference: the girl in blue is Mary and she is holding our Jesus, who also doubled as an angel because she was so good!

A Christmas Video
We have had an amazing Christmas Day. Amelia was very excited for this first Christmas that she could really understand. A video for your enjoyment:

Thank you to all of our family and friends for the wonderful gifts. On a personal note thank you to Becky, Edie and Heidi for the best surprise present I have ever received.

Vacation is finally here!

Amelia has had some really funny comments over the last couple of days. She called the freezer the "icer" and when her hair pigtails were falling out she said that her "hair was leaking."
Funnies from today:
Number One
A: Why did Grandmother buy me this car seat?
Me: Because she loves you and wanted you to be safe!
A: Where is she at?
M: Remember? She had to go to heaven so we can't see her anymore; but we can think about her and sometimes we might even feel like she is inside of us.
A: Mommy, she is not in my belly.

Number Two
A: Is Santa bringing Yoda presents?
M: Uh, why yes he is. What should he bring him?
A: A tail warmer.
M: Like to keep his tail warm when he is outside?!
A: Yes. And a hat and mittens, too.

Baptized!
The Z got the big B a few weeks ago and we got some great pictures from a church friend yesterday... It was a really beautiful service.

Zoë was baptized with one other little boy who had a big sister named Emelia! SO, the priest had the idea that the two Amelias with different spellings help bless the baptism water. The above picture shows that - it was really cool.

A train ride
We took Amelia on a train ride while away for Thanksgiving. We traveled for 3 stops, walked around, and then came back. She LOVED it and had a very hard time understanding why we got off and had to wait for another train.

The train's whistle blew and she was so excited! (no there's nothing wrong with her eye...I just messed up in trying to clean up the red eye in the photo editor...)
Eagerly awaiting our train...

4 months!
Our little Zoë-bear is 4 months old now! She's growing fast and becoming more person-like by the day. In this month she has had her first case of pink eye and her first fever and is also working on her first tooth. Hopefully the second half of this month will be healthier for her! We are looking forward to her first Thanksgiving - and on next Monday I am going back to work. I am both excited and sad, but Zoë has been doing really, really well at her "day home" in the past few days that she has gone.
Funny student moments I have encountered at school in the last few days (I"ve been going in to get some work done ahead of time...) All are true:
1. Student: "Mrs. C!!!! Did you have your baby yet?"
Me: Yes. (what else do I say?)
2. Student: WOW YOU ARE SO MUCH SKINNIER THAN THE LAST TIME I SAW YOU!!!!!!
Me: I would hope so!
3. Student: Is that the baby you were pregnant with when I had you? (THREE YEARS AGO).
Me: (ABSOLUTE OUT LOUD LAUGHTER) No, she is 2 1/2 now.
4. Student: Is that the baby?
Me: No this is just one I've picked up in the parking lot. My real baby is at home.
Student: Really?
Me: No I AM KIDDING.

Zoe is Sick
This week Zoe has been under the weather. She had a temperature of 102 at one point and has not been an easy baby for Heidi. I came home from a long day of work last week and Heidi was exhausted. Zoe had cried most of the day and at that point had a rash too. Today has been my day with Zoe and she has not stopped crying for more than a 10 minute stretch. I don't really want to escape by going back to work but if she could just stop for a bit that would be terrific.

What about Zoë?
We saw a lot of Amelia last week - so what has Zoë been up to?
2. Getting baptized wearing the dress made by Grammie that Mommy, Aunt Becky, and Amelia have all worn to their baptisms.
3a. Trying really, really hard to roll over. But not being able to get that darn arm out of the way...
3b. Like I said, she is trying really, really hard...
